My life changed in ways I never expected when I embraced a new direction. Through personal and professional growth, I found a new way to help others and stay actively involved in my community.
In 2016, after retiring from a long and successful career in the restaurant industry, I found myself at a crossroads. I had spent over three decades climbing the ranks, becoming a district manager overseeing hundreds of employees. But as the company I worked for began to change, moving away from its people-oriented approach to a more numbers-driven one, I knew it was time for me to step away.
For much of my career, I balanced work with raising my kids, going to all their events and serving as a PTA president, treasurer, and multiple other positions, leading both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops, acting as team mom for their sports teams, and helping to form and lead the Cheer Booster Club when my daughter became a cheer captain. If there was something the school needed help with, I was there! As I entered retirement, I thought being involved with my grandkids and continuing to be a Girl Scout Leader would keep me busy.
However, I quickly realized I needed a new challenge, something that would allow me to continue growing and contributing in a meaningful way. That’s when a friend suggested real estate. At first, I dipped my toes in, thinking I’d work part-time. But it is not in my nature to do things halfway. I quickly realized real estate was exactly what I had been searching for!
Real estate isn’t just a job; it’s a perfect blend of everything I am passionate about. I’ve always had a love for helping people, solving problems, and bringing visions to life. In real estate, I get to assist clients in finding their dream homes, helping them see the potential in each space and imagining how it can be transformed to fit their needs. It’s a career that allows me to make a meaningful impact guiding clients through one of the most important decisions of their lives.
However, the transition wasn’t without its hurdles. After years of working in a highly structured corporate environment, I suddenly found myself with complete freedom—and with that, a lack of structure. It was a stark contrast to what I was used to, and the adjustment was challenging. I had to learn to create my own schedule, hold myself accountable, and build a business from scratch. I had to become my own boss, which meant setting my own goals and pushing myself to meet them without the external pressures I had grown accustomed to.
While it took some time to adjust, it pushed me to grow in ways I hadn’t anticipated. I developed stronger time management skills, honed my leadership abilities, and became more disciplined. I also had to refine my approach to working with clients—guiding them through the complex process of buying or selling a home required patience, empathy, and the ability to coach and guide rather than direct.
As I found my footing in real estate, my efforts were recognized, earning me Rookie of the Year at my office in 2018. I’ve consistently ranked among the top agents ever since, including top 10 Regional rankings. I even became a member of our office’s Leadership Council, where I help mentor newer agents and contribute to the overall growth and success of our team. The success I’ve found in real estate has given me a renewed sense of purpose. I’m not just selling houses; I’m helping people navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives, and that’s incredibly fulfilling!
Outside of work, I continue to be deeply involved in my community and family life. My husband, Phil, has been incredibly supportive throughout this journey. We were high school sweethearts who found our way back to each other later in life, blending our families together with four children and now, grandchildren who keep us busy. We love quality time with them, traveling, and boating with family and friends.
My approach to real estate centers on building strong, personal connections with my clients and understanding their unique needs and goals. I take pride in guiding them through every step of the process, ensuring they feel supported and informed. My years of experience in management have equipped me with excellent organizational skills and a keen ability to navigate complex transactions with precision and care. I’m meticulous in my analysis of market trends and pricing strategies, which allows me to negotiate effectively on behalf of my clients and achieve the best possible outcomes.
What truly drives me in this field is my passion for helping others! I view each real estate transaction as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in my clients’ lives, whether they’re buying their first home, selling a beloved property, or relocating to a new area. My commitment extends beyond the transaction—I strive to be a reliable resource and a trusted advisor for my clients long after the sale is complete. By blending my organizational abilities, strong communication skills, and deep commitment to client satisfaction, I aim to provide a real estate experience that is not only successful but also positive and memorable.
